The Rock  is a very valuable piece being worth as 5 pawns and having a wide reach. The movement is the easiest to learn of all pieces. Rooks can go forward, backward, to the left or to the right. Hello chess players! Welcome to my blog! In this article, we are going to learn how kings make a move. Kings are  the most important pieces in any chess game and are placed next to the Queens. Kings move to one neighboring square in any direction, so long as that square is not attacked by an enemy piece. For example: In this position king can moves at g2,g3,g4,f4,f2,e2,e4 and e3. But in this position king can't moves at g3 and f4. (we are going to see why later) There is also one special move for the king called "castling". In Castling, the King is moved two squares to the Right or Left, as the case may be, and the Rook towards which the King has moved is then placed upon the square which the King jumped over. However, there are a number of rules when castling is possible and when not.
